BIOGRAPHY

Duncan plays concerts, festivals and many other types of venues internationally, he plays everything from melodic ballads to blues/rock. He is a singer songwriter and guitarist specialising in finger picking acoustic guitar and various latin rhythm's.
His guitar techniques range from the very dynamic and percussive to a highly intricate and delicate fingerstyle.
His repertoire is original songs and instrumentals, also versions
of famous classics.
Duncan's early love for the guitar was enhanced by his studies with guitar maestro
Robert Fripp of King Crimson.
For nearly ten years he worked on the road and in studios with his great friend, guitar legend Big Jim Sullivan. This included international concerts, festivals and radio and much more, including a CMTV show broadcast live to six million listeners.
Duncan has experience as a session musician, working at top studios, including
Abbey Road, EMI and Decca. As a solo performer, he plays major festivals, concerts
and theatres internationally, sharing the stage with some of the greatest names in the business. He also has a band of name musicians called the

Duncan wrote and performed "To All Of You Out There" for a TV documentary about
disc jockey Stuart Henry; this was also played every night at closedown on Radio Luxembourg for many years to millions of listeners, also featured in a
Channel 4 Documentary.
In 2019 Duncan played Nashville, where at the Belcourt Taps and other venues the audience enjoyed his singing, songwriting and guitar playing. He also recorded a show for CMR radio, Nashville, to 750,000 listeners.
Recently, Duncan played for the Heritage Foundation UK. Concerts included a
special event at Robin Gibb's home for many celebrities, and another at
The Royal Palace Gardens Hotel in South Kensington, London.

The Blues To Bop Festival in Lugano, Switzerland, playing to huge and amazing audiences, one of the highlights being The Lugano Gospel afternoon, when Duncan played his version of "Amazing Grace". This was requested following a previous performance at a very successful concert to a full audience at Lugano Cathedral, where Duncan played his 1932 National Steel bottleneck guitar, this concert was broadcast live on Swiss and Italian radio. Duncan has played many concerts in Scandanavia, Italy, Switzerland and more.

A new album of 12 tracks by Duncan McKenzie Band called "THE TRAVELLER featuring many world famous musicians was released internationally online on "The Orchard" On 1st April 2023.
It has since been nominated for the Mercury Prize 2023 !
